System Engineer - Linux (Investment/Trading Platform)

Our Financial Organization client is looking for a high calibre as a System Engineer to join their Infrastructure team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support and carry out system and server administration activities.

• Optimize performance of the investment management platform and underlying databases.

• Translate business requirements into enhancements for existing applications and systems.

• Maintain and coordinate testing environments to support user acceptance testing.

• Work closely with external vendors to track and resolve production incidents.

• Support change management processes for applications, servers, and databases.

• Participate in system implementation and procurement of hardware, software, and related services.

• Assist with server patching, security scans, and remediation of identified vulnerabilities.

• Promote a culture of innovation, encouraging new ideas and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant IT experience.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Exposure to low-code development, SQL, Python, UNIX/Linux shell scripting, Java, DevOps and automation tools (e.g. Jenkins, Ansible) is preferred.

• Practical experience in technical/server support and database administration is an advantage.

• Comfortable working in a fast-changing, high-pressure environment with shifting priorities.

• Willingness to perform duties outside normal office hours when required.
